Monthly Stewardship Crew – Portal Ridge Volunteer Day

  • Portal Ridge Wildlife Preserve 195th St West Trailhead United States (map)

Join us in caring for the lands we share.

You are invited to join our monthly stewardship crew, where our hands-on conservation work happens. Help us protect and care for the Mojave Desert by reducing hazards for wildlife, improving habitat connectivity, and supporting long-term stewardship of the land.

You’ll work alongside Transition Habitat Conservancy staff while learning about the landscapes, plants, and wildlife that make this area unique.

Hike in to the work site (up to 1.5 miles with uneven terrain), work with a group, or assist where needed - all skill levels are welcome.

What to Expect:

No experience is needed

Tools and gloves will be provided (you are welcome to bring your own)

Projects may involve physical work in outdoor conditions

What to bring:

  • Plenty of water

  • Protective clothing

  • Sun protection

  • Comfortable, supportive shoes

Citizen Science:

We encourage volunteers to collect iNaturalist observations and data while they are out with us. Each season offers new opportunities for bird and plant observations.
