Preventing catastrophic wildfires in the West Mojave Desert by using targeted sheep grazing and working dogs to reduce dangerous fuel loads.

The spread of dry, flammable grasses crowds out native species and increases wildfire risk in areas with strong winds. To tackle this, we introduced 16 cows to graze the landscape.
